why I do what I do

One of my clients recently asked to move to fortnightly sessions after seeing me every week—and I can’t tell you how happy that made me. When she first came to me, she was really struggling. In her own words, she “used our sessions as a crutch.”

Hearing that now feels like such a profound shift. Through our work together—and, importantly, through the work she’s done for herself—she has become more grounded, more confident, and more empowered to trust her own judgment. She’s no longer dealing with the issue she originally came to me for, something that had been a constant fixation for over a year. Seeing her step into that space of self-trust and calm is incredibly rewarding.

Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. My role isn’t to create dependence—it’s to support growth. It’s to offer guidance, tools, and a safe space while someone is finding their own strength. The ultimate goal is for clients to leave our sessions feeling capable, equipped, and inspired to navigate life on their own terms.

I never want anyone to feel like they need me indefinitely. True progress is measured in independence, not hours spent in a room together. What matters most is helping you reach a place where you can take the knowledge, insights, and strategies you’ve learned and carry them forward—confident, resilient, and ready for whatever life brings.

Seeing someone reach that point—the point where they can trust themselves again—is why I love this work so deeply. It’s a reminder that transformation is possible, that growth is achievable, and that the right support at the right time can make all the difference.

So, if you’re reading this and wondering whether change is possible for you, the answer is yes. And my job is to walk alongside you until you no longer need the hand I offer—and then celebrate the incredible progress you’ve made on your own.
